Job Description

theMednet is looking for an Editorial Assistant to join our team of engineers and physician editors. The Editorial Assistant will work directly with physician editors and cancer experts who save the lives of cancer patients around the country. She or he will work under the chief medical officer and handle administrative and editorial responsibilities for theMednet team. In our startup environment, you will be the ability to grow and shape the role to advance your career. As an early employee on the editorial team, your role will have a significant impact on the editorial practices of the company.


  • Perform, under minimal supervision, administrative and editorial duties including correspondence with authors and editors.
  • Copy editing of questions and answers posted by physicians
  • Manage journal club correspondence between theMednet, authors, and journals
  • Copy edit industry reports
  • Coordinate editorial meetings
  • Write content for the site, social media, and other email newsletters as needed
  • Serve as editorial contact for theMednet
  • Assist Associate Editors and Deputy Editors with production as needed


  • Passion for theMednet’s mission of improving the quality of cancer care on a large scale
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to multitask, prioritize, anticipate needs, and have impeccable follow-through
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Journalism, Communication or a related discipline
  • Willingness to build strong personal relationships with physicians throughout the country
  • Professional, outgoing, friendly, and creative personality
