Do you start steroid therapy in a patient with pure ARDS without septic shock, or would you only consider steroids only in those with severe community acquired pneumonia?

I agree with the above comment, this is a complex answer and right now further studies need to be conducted to determine if routine steroids should be considered in all three disease states.
