For lower extremity sarcoma, what is the tolerance of the tissues of the anterior tibial area to curative doses of radiation?

My experience has been that the blood supply to this area is poor and does not tolerate curative doses (70Gy) of radiation well. How do others approach treatment to this area, especially in elderly patients with other co-morbid conditions?
