This is a complicated answer that will vary from state to state, county to county, and overall, it is not a straightforward answer. I do wish we had better systems in the U.S. for managing the social determinants of health (SDOH), and I don't have all of the answers here.

When social determinants affect my patient but resources are limited, I still address them proactively.
