How do you advise patients to avoid carboxymethylcellulose when the excipient it is commonly found in many products?  

I have a pt  who was diagnosed with carboxymethylcellulose allergy after experiencing anaphylaxis from a triamcinolone injection.

Are they able to tolerate small amounts orally?
