In my practice, staged repairs are reserved for hypospadias complications/failures and complex re-do cases. For all others, a one stage repair is usually preferred.

I think etiology plays a role here, along with previous treatment. If there are no previous augmentation failures and no history of hypospadias, I would try to approach it as a single stage.
