How soon after ChemoRT for a head and neck cancer can you safely initiate esophageal dilation?

I don’t know of an agreed upon time interval. I would allow for resolution of acute effects, probably 2-3 months.

Interesting, I think that we saw fewer before gastrostomy tubes and whole neck IMRT

Esophageal strictures are usually a late complication of head and neck radiation. Therefore, esophageal dilation can be done as needed.
