How do you manage worsening cutaneous dermatomyositis when muscle disease appears controlled?

I have a patient with NXP2+ dermatomyositis currently on Cellcept 1500 BID and weaned down to Prednisone 5mg. CK and strength exam has normalized. While weaning down Prednisone, worsening of rash (aggressive Gottron sign, holster/shawl rash, pruritic). Planning on adding Dapsone, but would you change immunosuppression based on skin flaring alone?

Since mycophenolate helped and we tapered prednisone to 5 mg, I would not change it, but add methotrexate to the regimen.
