Is there a role for suppressive antibiotic therapy when it comes to chronic femoral/tibial osteomyelitis?

In which scenarios do you consider chronic suppressive antibiotic therapy for femoral/tibial osteomyelitis?

• When there is an infected hardware in place and the patient is not a surgical candidate
• In the presence of a bone sequestrum when surgery cannot be performed
• If there is concern for incomplete eradication of osteomyelitis post-treatment
• I do not use chronic suppressive antibiotic therapy for femoral/tibial osteomyelitis
