Patients with pheochromocytoma-paraganglioma can present with intermittent catecholamine production.
It is important to measure metabolites (O-methylated metabolites) based on work by Eisenhofer et al., PMID 15644397: intratumor metabolism of catecholamines to free metanephrines.
