The best treatment for KP is time. With age KP improves on the face, forearms and legs during and after puberty. Natural oil production on the face is likely the reason for improvement in this area. I have had significant anecdotal results on patients using 10% glycolic acid creams. It takes approximately six weeks to be effective but it has been consistently helpful.

Urea works well at smoothing out keratin. I also encourage the use of fragrance-free and dye-free laundry detergents and no fabric softener (especially the dryer sheets) as they exacerbate this problem.
