What would be your advice to providers who are wary of QTc prolongation after starting an amiodarone load and wish to discontinue it?
Is there a percent change in QTc in which you would consider stopping amiodarone, especially in patients who have baseline wide QRS complexes?

Amiodarone has been studied in patients with prior TDP patients and found to be safe (small paper from Mattioni et al., PMID 2774388 at Northwestern at the time of my EP fellowship). No need to worry about QT prolongation with amiodarone. TdeP is a rare event with this drug and not predictable by QT interval alone.
