When do you refer patients for acupuncture for AI associated joint pain?

In light of two phase III randomized trials showing duloxetine (S1202) and acupuncture (S1200) both improve AIMSS, which would you try first? Would any acupuncturist know how to treat AI-associated joint pain or does it require a specialist?
