UTIs should not be an absolute contraindication for SGLT2s. I’ll be particularly careful with female patients. Education of the patient as to what to expect and watch is most important. Risks vs benefits!

While I agree that it is not an absolute contraindication, we must thoroughly evaluate the patient to rule out any underlying urinary obstruction, stasis, severe BPH, or poorly controlled DM before we prescribe SGLT2i.
