At what field size would you consider splitting a palliative spine treatment into two different courses?
If you are treating a very large palliative spine field that encompasses several vertebral levels, would you consider splitting the field (treating half of the field week 1 and half of the field after the first field is completed) so that you aren't treating the entire field during one treatment course?

I usually ask for a detailed pain history and limit the size of RT to correlate with the pain and target MRI areas that are problematic (epidural, impending cord or fracture).
