I do not do so. The incidence of EPS within the first 5 years of PD is extremely low. Probably not. It is a true risk, even though not common. I have seen it in at least 3-4 patients over many years of being a nephrologist. It is a horrible consequence, but dialysis, in general, is not easy. The balance is not to cause too much anxiety while being forthright to patients.

It IS interesting that "the ISPD recommendation is to consider discussing the possibility of EPS with patients after 3-4 years of PD (Brown et al., PMID 28676507).
I have not done that either for the same reasons, but I am hyper vigila...
