When do you consider EMG for peripheral neuropathy?

• I order EMGs in all new presentations of peripheral neuropathy
• I do not order EMGs, but rather refer to neurology to consider EMG for peripheral neuropathy
• I order EMGs if the peripheral neuropathy has atypical features (rapidly progressive, not classic "stocking glove" distribution)
• I order EMGs if there is diagnostic uncertainty
