For patients with cervical cancer who otherwise meet criteria for a simple hysterectomy based off SHAPE or GOG-0278 criteria, do you require negative margins on the excisional biopsy specimen to offer simple hysterectomy?

Assuming other conservative criteria are met, do you reserve simple hysterectomy only for patients with cervical cancer who have negative margins on their excisional biopsy?

• Yes, I will only offer simple hysterectomy if margins are negative
• No, I will offer simple hysterectomy if they otherwise meet conservative criteria
• It depends- I would repeat cone if possible, but would consider simple hysterectomy if unable to excise further
