Chandelier buckles are valuable in teaching primary scleral buckle to fellows early in their training, but do not offer significant benefits beyond this application.

We have been proponents of using a chandelier light to teach and improve surgery for scleral buckle cases for well over a decade (Seider et al., PMID 27621789) and recognize its importance in 1) teaching 2) visualization and 3) accuracy of treatment.
