Historically, the general/recommended approach to steroid taper in PMR has been the following: starting at 12.5-25 mg (I usually start between 15-20 mg), decrease by 2.5 every 2-4 weeks to a dose of 10 mg, and then decreasing by 1 mg every 4 weeks until discontinuation.
