Guidelines treat rebound mostly as an infection control issue requiring additional isolation. Treatment is not routinely recommended. Rebound after a documented case of COVID-19 can occur whether a person has taken Paxlovid or not though it appears to happen more frequently in persons who have taken Paxlovid.
