I think most patients do tolerate TTF. I’ve seen patients with concerns of skin irritation, but I think the bigger issue is the inconvenience and aesthetics.

Overall, TTF treatment is well-tolerated. The most common side effects that we have observed are related to mild to moderate skin reactions associated with the transducer arrays in about half of the patients. The only significant side effect is skin reaction. This is usually managed with hydrocortisone cream. Dermatology can assist for severe cases.

I too have seen the skin reaction but have also seen significant fatigue in a number of patients using TTF. I have seen this primarily with patients attempting to wear the device >80-90% of the time and saw improvement when they reduced back to 75%. Hopefully drugs like armodafinil (Nuvigil) will sh...
