What is your typical approach to the use of beta blockers in the setting of recent cocaine use amongst patients presenting with cocaine-related MI, arrhythmias, or new-onset heart failure?

What is your inpatient approach to beta blockers amongst patients with recent cocaine use who are prescribed outpatient beta blockers?

• If they are being admitted for non-cardiac related issues, I favor continuation of their outpatient beta blocker (applies to both selective and non-selective options)
• I favor holding off on resuming their home beta blocker in the acute setting
• If there is another indication for beta blocker use (such as Afib with RVR), I continue beta blockers and opt for non-selective ones
