When I have doubt, borderline personality disorder, or bipolar spectrum, I recommend a trial of Lamictal. I've seen several patients whose lives became more stable. As I got to know them over the months, it became clear that BPD was the primary difficulty.

AED (Depakote, Trileptal, etc.) with low-dose antipsychotic if needed.
