Would you consider over-the-counter dextromethorphan (low dose, slow titration) as augmentation in MDD?

Considering a growing interest in the use of dextromethorphan for depression (Majeed et al., PMID 33682569).

Just one comment to clarify what might be a title/question mismatch:

Augmentation of bupropion with dextromethorphan makes sense, given the positive results from the bupropion/dextromethorphan polypill. As to results, I'll leave that to others, as I haven't used this strategy very often.

I have used prescribed generic bupropion + dextromethorphan as a means of mimicking Auvelity without the hefty price tag. The prescribing info for Auvelity is to start with one tab (dextromethorphan 45 mg/bupropion 105 mg) and increase to BID (morning and 8 hours after first dose) after 3 days. What...
