Can obesity alone, independent of other comorbidities like psoriasis or presence of ACPA, act as a primary etiological factor in the development of inflammatory arthritis or spondyloarthritis?

Unlike psoriatic arthritis, obesity has not been observed to be a primary etiological factor in the pathogenesis of RA. Metabolic syndrome is not a risk factor for the development of RA.
