Unlike psoriatic arthritis, obesity has not been observed to be a primary etiological factor in the pathogenesis of RA. Metabolic syndrome is not a risk factor for the development of RA.

I don’t find that obesity has much of a link to inflammatory arthritis. We have numerous studies that our medications are more efficacious in PsA patients, specifically, the TNF works better, and numerous studies that weight loss overall lessens disease activity in known and confirmed inflamma...
