How would you approach definitive RT for mid-esophageal cancer in a patient who declines or cannot get chemotherapy?

I am always reminded of RTOG 85-01 (Cooper et al., PMID 10235156) data in this clinical scenario.

64Gy in 32Fx RT alone had a 0% 5-year rate of survival. If the matter is that the patient refuses chemotherapy, would try and inform him of that statistic (versus 26% with 50Gy + Chemo).
