I am not concerned about a cirrhotic patient receiving a fluoroquinolone, macrolide, metronidazole, or doxycycline. The drug insert labels do not raise any particular concerns for these drugs’ use, even in Child Pugh class C cirrhosis.

I completely agree with the above answer. The severity of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, as well as the increased likelihood of patients with cirrhosis developing infection, including the above, while in the hospital, in my mind, overshadows any adverse effects associated with the antibiotics.
